Dr. Shiv K Nair

Dr. Shiv K Nair has been the Head of Department and Senior Consultant of the Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Department at Rajagiri Hospital since November 2014. He was previously the Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, a University Teaching Hospital (1999 – 2014). In 1989, he began his career as a Lecturer at the Seth G.S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital in Bombay. This is Bombay's largest University Teaching Hospital. He later became an Assistant and then Associate Professor at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in Trivandrum [1990 - 1999]. The Government of India has identified this as an Institution of National Importance. He has conducted over 12,000 heart surgery procedures throughout this time.
