Dr. Lim Chong Hee

Thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Lim Chong Hee has over 25 years of practical expertise. His areas of expertise include the treatment of heart and lung failure, aortic aneurysms, mediastinal tumours, esophagectomy for esophageal cancer, and pulmonary embolectomy and endarterectomy surgery. He pioneered the Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and the installation of Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) for heart failure patients because of his particular interest in heart and lung failure. Dr. Lim previously worked at the National Heart Centre in Singapore, where he is still a visiting consultant today. The National University of Singapore awarded Dr. Lim a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree in 1990. After that, in 1994, he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), and from 1999 to 2001, he furthered his studies in cardiothoracic surgery at Cleveland, Ohio's illustrious Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
