BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Mendall earned honors degrees from Middlesex Hospital in 1985 and Cambridge University in 1982, respectively. He conducted his studies at Guy's and St. George's Hospitals, where he received his specialized gastrointestinal training. He was appointed Senior Lecturer at St. George's Medical School and Consultant Gastroenterologist at Croydon University Hospital in 1995. In 1998, he was chosen for Fellowship in the Royal College of Physicians. Dr. Mendall is the director of endoscopy at Croydon University Hospital and the British Society of Gastroenterology's delegate to the London Strategic Health Authority. He serves on a variety of local and national committees and is a Fellow of the American Gastroenterology Association. Dr. Mendall has published or contributed to more than 70 original works, including several books. His primary areas of study are dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel illness (particularly the impact of nutrition on Crohn's disease), and the body's reaction to inflammation. His primary clinical interests include cancer, dyspepsia, irritable bowel syndrome, and inflammatory bowel disease in addition to diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. ERCP (endoscopic bile duct therapy), capsule endoscopy, oesophageal manometary and pH recording, and oesophageal, duodenal and biliary stenting are just a few of the advanced procedures that Dr. Mendall has performed extensively.
