Prof Alan Salama

Professor Alan Salama is a specialist in nephrology and the head of the UCL Department of Renal Medicine at the university's Faculty of Medical Sciences, which is ranked among the top 10 faculties of medical sciences worldwide and first in London for medicine. He has experience in vasculitis, autoimmune disorders, and kidney transplantation and specializes in immunological kidney illnesses. After completing a PhD at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School and a post-doctoral fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Alan received his medical training in Oxford and London at The London Hospital, Guy's Hospital, and The Hammersmith Hospital. In addition to his clinical practice, he directs a lab that studies immune dysfunction and autoimmune kidney disease in an effort to improve the diagnosis and treatment of immune-mediated renal disorders such systemic vasculitis and SLE.
