BIOGRAPHY

In 1988, Sharon Watanabe received her degree from McGill University. She did a fellowship in palliative care medicine at the University of Alberta after receiving training in internal medicine and medical oncology at the University of Toronto. She started out as a staff doctor in the Grey Nuns Community Hospital's Tertiary Palliative Care Unit before rising to become its director. She presently serves as the director of both the Division of Palliative Care Medicine in the Department of Oncology and the Department of Symptom Management and Palliative Care at the Cross Cancer Center.
