"India has a long history of being regarded as a country endowed with spirituality that is independent of any particular religion. According to Sanathana Dharma, spirituality is a part of every person that transcends life, death, and belief. The complete truth of human existence was made known to NAVAJYOTHI SREEKARUNAKARAGURU by the Brahmam. Guru was born ninety years ago in Chandiroor, Cherthala, in simple circumstances. Santhigiri Ashram is located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and was chosen by the Guru as appropriate for our Yuga. It has branch Ashrams in Cherthala (Janmagriham), Haripad, Kottarakkara, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Sultanbathery, Palghat, Kallar, Kumily, Cochin, Kottayam, Madurai and Kanyakumari. Ayurveda and Siddha-related medical education is being promoted by Santhgiri Ashram as part of the ""Nava Arogya Dharma Siddhantham"" (New Doctrine of Healthcare) put forth by Guru. To this end, on September 10, 2002, the Guru's 76th birthday, two medical colleges—the Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College and Santhigiri Siddha Medical College—were opened by the then-chief minister of Kerala, Mr. A K Antony. The only Siddha medical college in India where English is the primary language of instruction is Santhigiri Siddha Medical College in Pothencode. Each year, a maximum of 50 students may enrol. A five and a half year professional graduate programme in Siddha Medicine and Surgery is offered by the college. The 150-bed hospital that is attached provides plenty of space for clinical practise. The Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College in Palakkad was founded with the intention of reviving the all-encompassing approach to care used in the past. The college, with a sanctioned intake of 50 students each year, conducts a professional graduate course in Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery. This college has a 100-bed hospital attached to it.

Shri. Shekharan Vaidyan became well-known as a versatile Kottaram Vaidyan over a century ago (Court Physician). By royal decree, only the top local traditional doctors were selected to serve as the king's physicians. Shekharan Vaidyan was well known for his academic accomplishments and medical knowledge. Vidwan S. Madhavan Vaidyan followed in the footsteps of his well-known father. He was a poet and a teacher in addition to having passed the Pattambi Sankrit College vidwan exams. Madhavan Vaidyan quickly attained the qualities that define a great physician, helped by the wealth of knowledge and experience Shekharan Vaidyan imparted in his teachings, as well as the ancient manuscripts, the thaliola, that he received as a family heirloom. The public loved him because of the grace and simplicity of his life and treatment. Dr. M. Vijayan finished his education at the Thiruvananthapuram Ayurveda College. He succeeded his illustrious father as the institution's Chief Physician, turning it into one of Kollam's top Ayurvedic treatment facilities.

One of the oldest medical sciences in the world is the Siddha System of Medicine, which has been practised for ages in South India, particularly in Tamil Nadu. It places a strong emphasis on good health, which combines a person's physical, mental, social, moral, and spiritual well-being. As a result, it is a way of life as well as a method of treatment. As part of the Ashram's efforts to revive this traditional medical system, which is little known outside of Tamil Nadu but has highly effective, affordable, and quick remedies for several chronic ailments, the 150-bed Santhigiri Siddha Medical College Hospital was established in 2002-03 The therapeutic value of the minerals, metals, and herbs used in Siddha concoctions is extremely high. The methods used to clean and process the metals show an eerie understanding of chemistry and medicine that the ""Siddhars,"" or creators of this system, possessed. Patients can take advantage of a variety of amenities, including a fully stocked pharmacy that dispenses genuine "Siddha" medications made at the Santhigiri Ayurveda and Siddha Vaidyasala, separate male and female ""panchakarma"" rooms, a vegetarian restaurant, general wards, pay wards, AC and non AC deluxe rooms, and suites.
