Package Description
ASO Surgery:
The Arterial Switch Technique, or ASO, is a procedure in which a doctor must operate on the heart. It is an open heart surgery that is performed to rectify the location of the arteries within the heart. Blood is transported to and from the heart through the arteries and veins. They also control blood pressure and oxygen delivery to various regions of the body. If left uncontrolled for a long time, any blockage or damage in these arteries might be deadly.
The ASO technique is quite important. As a result, it is critical that you follow the doctor's directions. Check for blood types that are suitable with the procedure. You can also prepare for surgery shortly after birth if the issue has been established well in advance. The success of this treatment depends on blood type compatibility and good circulation.
Disease Overview:
Post-Streptococcal Glomerulonephritis (PSGN)
PSGN is a kidney condition that can occur as a result of infections caused by group A Streptococcus bacteria (group A strep). Infections of the throat and skin, such as strep throat, scarlet fever, and impetigo, are among them. PSGN is not a kidney infection caused by group A strep.
Disease Signs and Symptoms:
PSGN can cause the following symptoms:
- Urine that is dark and reddish-brown in colour.
- Edema (swelling) in the face, around the eyes, and in the hands and feet is common.
- Reduced the urge to urinate or the volume of urine produced.
- Low iron levels in the blood cause tiredness (fatigue due to mild anemia)
Disease Causes:

Disease Diagnosis:
PSGN is diagnosed by reviewing a patient's medical history and performing laboratory testing. Urine samples can be tested for protein and blood by doctors. A blood test can also be used to determine how well the kidneys are functioning. They can also tell if a patient has had a group A strep infection lately.
Disease treatment:
PSGN treatment focuses on symptom management as needed: Limiting salt and water consumption or administering a medicine that promotes urine flow to reduce swelling (edoema) (diuretic) Blood pressure medicine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).
