Santhigiri Ayurveda & Siddha Hospital, Kozhikode | Kozhikode , India

Profile (Overview)

India has a long history of being regarded as a country endowed with spirituality that is independent of any particular religion. According to Sanathana Dharma, spirituality is a part of every person that transcends life, death, and belief. The complete truth of human existence was made known to NAVAJYOTHI SREEKARUNAKARAGURU by the Brahmam. Guru was born ninety years ago in Chandiroor, Cherthala, in simple circumstances. Santhigiri Ashram is located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and was chosen by the Guru as appropriate for our Yuga. It has branch Ashrams in Cherthala (Janmagriham), Haripad, Kottarakkara, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Sultanbathery, Palghat, Kallar, Kumily, Cochin, Kottayam, Madurai and Kanyakumari. Ayurveda and Siddha-related medical education is being promoted by Santhgiri Ashram as part of the ""Nava Arogya Dharma Siddhantham"" (New Doctrine of Healthcare) put forth by Guru. To this end, on September 10, 2002, the Guru's 76th birthday, two medical colleges—the Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College and Santhigiri Siddha Medical College—were opened by the then-chief minister of Kerala, Mr. A K Antony. The only Siddha medical college in India where English is the primary language of instruction is Santhigiri Siddha Medical College in Pothencode. Each year, a maximum of 50 students may enrol. A five and a half year professional graduate programme in Siddha Medicine and Surgery is offered by the college. The 150-bed hospital that is attached provides plenty of space for clinical practise. The Santhigiri Ayurveda and Siddha Hospital in Kozhikode is situated in the centre of the city on Wayanad Road, close to Manorama Junction. This hospital, which opened its doors in April 2007, offers a variety of Panchakarma, Siddha, and rejuvenation treatments.
