Clin Assoc Prof Lee Shu Yen

Clinical Associate Professor Lee graduated from NUS in 1996 and earned her post-graduate degrees in ophthalmology (FAMS and FRCSEd (Ophth)) in 2004. She currently serves as the Head of the Surgical Retina Department at the Singapore National Eye Centre. She finished a two-year vitreo-retinal surgery fellowship at the SNEC and worked with Profs. Ian Constable and Ian MacAllister at the Lions Eye Institute in Western Australia. Adjunct Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School since 2008, Clinical Associate Professor Lee has a long history of involvement in education. She is a clinical lecturer and has also been teaching the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine's undergraduate medical students. She presently serves as the Singapore Society of Ophthalmology's president. Research interests of Clinical Associate Professor Lee include gene therapy for retinal illnesses, diabetic retinopathy, myopia-related retinal problems, and retinal detachment. She enjoys playing tennis and is a part of the Ministry of Health's and Singapore Medical Association's tennis teams.
