Dr Chin Chong Min

At Mt. Elizabeth Novena Hospital, consultant urologist Dr. Chin Chong Min has been practising for 27 years. Additionally, he holds visiting consultant positions at National University Hospital, Raffles Hospital, and Changi General Hospital in addition to being an adjunct associate professor at the National University of Singapore. His urology training included time spent at the Bristol Urological Institute (BUI) in the UK (1996–1997) and a robotic urology residency programme at the University of California, Irvine in the USA (2005). For his surgical skill in treating uro-oncology, or cancers of the kidney, bladder, prostate, and testicles, Dr. Chin is well known. He is skilled in robotic and laparoscopic surgery. He is familiar with all three Da Vinci robotic systems and has trained on the most recent da Vinci Xi robot (viz. Standard, Si and Xi). His surgical experience with robotics includes more than 800 prostate, 40 kidney, and 6 adrenal procedures. He exhibited two original videos of his robotic prostatectomy at the 2012 European Association of Urology Congress in Paris. He has developed his own methods for robotic surgery. His procedures often last two hours. He has removed a kidney tumour that was 7 cm in diameter and a malignant prostate that weighed 120 gm.
