BIOGRAPHY

Singapore's Farrer Park Hospital and Farrer Park Medical Centre are home to neurologist Dr. Lee Kim En. Dr. Lee Kim En, an old Rafflesian, earned his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1993. He later became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) and underwent specialty training in neurology. He was then given a clinical and research fellowship in stroke and critical care neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where he trained and collaborated with the best and brightest in neuroscience. Dr. Lee was accepted as a Fellow of the Edinburgh-based Royal College of Physicians in 2004. He completed a brief sabbatical fellowship at the Mayo Clinic the following year. Dr. Lee was instrumental in establishing the Acute Stroke Service, making MR imaging accessible to all patients suspected of having an ischemic stroke, and putting the ""Hub and Spoke"" TeleStroke Service model into place at the National Neuroscience Institute to support acute stroke patients admitted to Changi General Hospital and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. Dr. Lee served patients at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore General Hospital, Changi General Hospital, Alexandra Hospital, and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital while serving as the National Neuroscience Institute's Deputy Director, Education Director, and Head of Department (Neurology).
