Dr. Ronald Werb

Dr. Werb is a practising clinical nephrologist and was previously the director of both the PHC Renal Program and the Hemodialysis Unit. In Sechelt, Powell River, Squamish, and Fraser Valley outreach programmes, he coordinates the care of local hemodialysis patients. Plasmapheresis is his other area of interest (co-managed with Hematology). Prior to arriving to UBC, Dr. Werb worked in Canada's Newfoundland and London, Ontario, where he completed his medical studies. He has worked for UBC since 1979. Dr. Werb has been a member of the dialysis and transplant patients' dragon boat team O2P for a long time, and he trains with them at least once a week, rain or shine.
