BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Phil McFarlane is an assistant professor at the University of Toronto and a clinical investigator in the Division of Nephrology at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. He serves as the Chief Nephrologist for the Live Kidney Donor Program at St. Michael's Hospital as well as the Medical Director of Home Dialysis. He belongs to the Canadian Society of Nephrology, the Canadian Diabetes Association Clinical Practice Guidelines, and the Canadian Hypertension Education Program. At the Institute for Medical Sciences (IMS) at the University of Toronto, he earned his PhD in health economics. Health economics and outcomes studies are among his areas of interest. He presently serves as the provincial medical lead for home hemodialysis and access to dialysis.
