"Shirish (M.S.) Hiremath, affectionately referred to as MSH, had a successful academic career. He earned his MD from Sasoon and his DM from Lokmanya Hospital Sion in Mumbai after receiving thorough cardiology training. He made a triumphant return to Pune in 1982. He began by building a solid cardiology foundation at Joshi Hospital in Erandwane. He started working in the cath lab in Ruby Hall, where he is currently the director of the cath lab and has been for many years. His very old friend Dr. Nitu Mandke founded Ruby Hall as the Center for Difficult Heart Procedures and frequently travelled to Pune to perform bypass surgeries.
