BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Chia graduated from the National University of Singapore with a basic medical degree in 2000 and a Masters of Medicine (Internal Medicine) in 2005. In 2009, he finished his advanced training in cardiology and was admitted as a fellow of the Singapore Academy of Medicine. At St Vincent's Hospital Sydney, Dr. Chia completed a one-year Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing in 2011 with assistance from the Ministry of Health Manpower Development Plan. In 2016, the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh) awarded him Fellowship. Dr. Chia has been designated an adjunct associate professor by the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and an adjunct associate professor by the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in honour of his contributions to medical student teaching. At the moment, Dr. Chia serves as Senior Consultant and Head of the Cardiology Division at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in Singapore. He oversees the services for cardiac electrophysiology, arrhythmia, and pacing. His areas of expertise are cardiac implantable electronic devices and arrhythmias, and he has written significantly in these fields for national and international medical journals. He is a Council member of the Singapore Cardiac Society and the Specialty Editor (Cardiology) for the Singapore Medical Journal.
