Dr Liew Boon Wah

Cardiologist Dr. Liew Boon Wah is the department's chief and a consultant at Changi General Hospital (CGH). His main area of interest is general cardiology, with coronary artery disease being his particular area of expertise. Dr. Liew finished his cardiology residency in Singapore and received his fellowship in interventional cardiology from Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. He is certified to treat patients with ischemic heart disease by performing coronary artery angioplasty procedures. As the program's director, Dr. Liew oversees a multidisciplinary team that coordinates the care of patients who have experienced an acute myocardial infarction. One of Singapore's two clinical care programmes for cardiology that has received JCI accreditation is the AMI programme. Additionally, he participates actively as core faculty in the Singhealth cardiology senior residency programme and as an EXCO member in the Duke-NUS CVS ACP.
