Dr Lin Weiqin

Currently serving as the Clinical Director of the Heart Failure Program at NUHCS, Dr. Lin Weiqin is a Consultant with the Department of Cardiology at the National University Heart Centre of Singapore (NUHCS). 2008 saw Dr. Lin graduate from the National University of Singapore with a degree in medicine and surgery. In 2011, he received the Master of Medicine in Internal Medicine from the National University of Singapore and membership in the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) after completing his basic specialist training in internal medicine. The National University Heart Centre in Singapore is where he finished his cardiology studies before being hired as a staff cardiologist in 2015. When he received the Healthcare Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) in 2017, he began a year-long fellowship in advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, United States. During the fellowship, he received training in the management of acute heart failure with short-term mechanical circulatory support, as well as the care of advanced heart failure patients with implanted durable left ventricular assist devices (LVADs) or heart transplants. Cardiomyopathies (including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, cardiac amyloidosis, and cardiac sarcoidosis) and echocardiography are among Dr. Lin's other specialist interests in addition to heart failure. As part of his practise, he conducts cardiac biopsies and right heart catheterization. Additionally, he is a member of the committee overseeing the nation's mechanical circulatory support and heart transplant programmes.
