BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Charles Chan graduated from the University of Ireland with a first-class medical degree and went on to get a master's degree in surgery. He continued his studies in cardiology and was certified as a Board Specialist in Cardiology in Singapore in 1989. Dr. Chan worked as the Senior Consultant Cardiologist and Director for Adult Diagnostic & Interventional Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at the National Heart Centre in Singapore before beginning his own practise. Additionally, Dr. Chan has taken a leading role in both medical research and education. At the National University of Singapore, he served as a clinical associate professor of medicine. Additionally, he has worked as a clinical lecturer in cardiology at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, United Kingdom.
He has evaluated articles for numerous medical and cardiology journals over the years, including Catheterization and Cardiovascular Diagnosis and Singapore Medical Journal. He has also served as a peer reviewer for several prestigious publications, including the International Journal of Cardiology, the Academy of Medicine, and the Specialist Advisory Panel of Annals. In the area of clinical research, Dr. Chan has also held a very significant position. He is the lead researcher for several device studies, including the NUGGET Trial, PHARAO, the APATEST- Terumo Stent Trial, and others. In addition, he serves as the lead researcher for the HERO-2 study, a pharmaceutical research project, and a member of the steering committee.
