BIOGRAPHY

In Poland, Dr. Lgnaszewski completed his medical education. He immigrated to Canada in 1983, attending Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, to finish his internal medicine residency before transferring to the University of Alberta to complete his adult cardiology residency. In 1994, he was chosen to serve as the medical director of a prestigious programme for cardiac rehabilitation and prevention at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia. His additional research interests include heart transplantation and therapy of severe heart failure, including cutting-edge multidisciplinary approaches to the disease's treatment with specialist clinics and quality-improvement initiatives. Dr. Ignaszewski, a former head of the UBC Heart Transplant Program at St. Paul's Hospital, is the director of the Heart Function Clinic there. Also, he leads the province in heart failure. Heart failure, cardiac rehabilitation, and patient outcomes following various cardiovascular treatments are among the doctor's research interests. In these fields, he has 128 abstracts and 77 papers published.
