Dr Brian Khoo Chung Hoe

Dr. Brian Khoo received his MB ChB from Queen's University of Belfast in 1998 and his MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians in 2002. He currently works as a cardiologist at Nobel Heart Centre in Mount Alvernia Medical Centre A. Dr. Brian Khoo is a multilingual person who speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, Malay, and English. His work includes the evaluation and management of arrhythmias, CT coronary angiography, the management of heart failure disease, the evaluation and management of chest pain, and preventative cardiovascular screening. Dr. Brian Khoo received specialist accreditation in cardiology from the Ministry of Health and Singapore Medical Council in 2006 after completing advanced specialist training in cardiology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. The only physician in Singapore to have been accepted to the United States-based Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education's sponsorship programme as an interventional cardiology fellow, he advanced his studies by spending a year in interventional cardiology under Drs. Neal Kleiman at the Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Centre and Ken Fujise at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Dr. Brian Khoo assisted in the establishment of the Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention service at the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital after his return. The ""door to balloon"" time, or the amount of time between when a patient enters the A&E and when coronary blood flow is achieved, has been decreased to under 90 minutes thanks to this round-the-clock service, which has significantly increased the survival rates of heart attack patients.
