Dr Denis Bouchard

Dr. Bouchard completed a surgical residency in valve repair at the famed Cleveland Clinic after studying medicine at McGill University and specialised in cardiac surgery at University de Montreal. He has performed surgery on more than 3000 patients since he began practising at the Montreal Heart Institute in 2000. He has specialised in heart failure surgery, minimally invasive thoracic surgery (thoracoscopy), valve repair, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy surgery over the years. Dr. Bouchard has been the programme director for cardiac surgery at University de Montréal since 2008. He also serves as an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and is a member of the committee for the speciality of cardiac surgery.
