BIOGRAPHY

David Glineur, MD, PhD, is an assistant professor in the University of Ottawa's Department of Surgery and a cardiac surgeon at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. In 1998, Dr. Glineur graduated with honours in medicine from the Université Catholique de Louvain in Brussels, Belgium. He received advanced laparoscopic training at the University of Lille in France during his surgical residency. In 2004, he earned board certification in general surgery. He completed a three-month mini-fellowship in off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery while a fellow in cardiac surgery. Dr. Glineur began the robotic mitral valve programme at Clinique Saint-Luc Bouge in Namur, Belgium, in December 2011 following intensive training in robotic cardiac surgery in the United States with a focus on mitral valve replacement.
