In 1995, Dr. Demers graduated with his medical degree from the Université of Montreal. In 2001, he completed his heart surgery residency programme at the University of Montreal. He finished a master's degree in biological sciences while he was completing his residency. The following year, Dr. Demers was awarded grants to finish a two-year fellowship at Stanford University under the direction of Dr. D. Craig Miller. During this time, he gained interest and expertise in the management and treatment of aortic disease, including aortic root reconstruction with valve preservation, aortic dissection surgery, valve repair surgery, and endovascular treatment of aortic disease (including aneurysms, dissections, bicuspid aortic valve disease, and Marfan's syndrome). He has authored more than 60 publications in peer-reviewed journals, more than 50 scientific abstracts, and 8 book chapters as a co-author. Dr. Talal Al-Atassi is an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa as well as a surgeon in the Division of Cardiac Surgery at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute. He is presently the Residency Training Program's Program Director. Harvard University awarded Dr. Al-Atassi a master's degree in public health along with his medical degree from McGill University. He finished his surgical residency at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, where he served as chief resident. He then underwent fellowships at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for his thoracic aortic and endovascular work and Emory University in Atlanta for his interventional structural heart and minimally invasive heart surgery. Dr. Al-Atassi is the first surgeon from Canada to receive formal training in cutting-edge transcatheter methods at prestigious facilities in the US during his fellowship. The Heart Institute, the University of Ottawa, the Ottawa Hospital, and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, among others, have all given Dr. Al-Atassi accolades for his clinical and research work. He reviews articles for Circulation and Annals of Thoracic Surgery, two prestigious journals. In 2017, Dr. Al-Atassi joined the Heart Institute's Division of Cardiac Surgery.

Clinical Associate Professor Yeo Khung Keong is a Senior Consultant at the Department of Cardiology at the National Heart Centre Singapore and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Data Science and Innovation) (NHCS). His specialised interests include interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, vascular medicine, and peripheral arterial procedures. He oversees the NHCS MitraClip programme. He is the Scientific Lead for the Clinical Sciences and Database Core at the National Heart Research Institute Singapore and a Clinical Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School. He oversees the SingCLOUD and SingHEART studies as the principal investigator. In addition, Clin Assoc Prof Yeo serves as SingHealth's deputy group chief medical informatics officer (research). He previously held the positions of Academic Vice-Chair (Training and Education) for the SingHealth Duke-NUS Cardiovascular Academic Clinical Program and Programme Director of the SingHealth Cardiology Senior Residency Program (April 2016 to March 2021). Clin Assoc Prof Yeo is a fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC), American Heart Association (FAHA), American College of Cardiology (FACC), Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology (FAPSC), Asian Pacific Society of Interventional Cardiology (FAPSIC), and Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He is also a member of the Singapore Cardiac Society (FSCAI). He serves as both the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology and the Past-Chair of the Chapter of Cardiologists, Academy of Medicine Singapore.
