Johns Hopkins Singapore International Medical Centre, Singapore | Singapore , Singapore

Profile (Overview)

The Singaporean government and Johns Hopkins Medicine entered into a partnership in 1998 with the goal of creating the first private medical centre in the region to provide both patient care and clinical research and teaching. Johns Hopkins Singapore, the organization's first jointly owned and operated hospital outside of the US, opened its doors in 2000. It had been housed in Tan Tock Seng Hospital from 2005. With 30 inpatient beds, a luxurious presidential suite for dignitaries, and an outpatient chemotherapy unit, it provided patients with a geographical alternative to Johns Hopkins oncology care in a contemporary Asian setting that is culturally diverse and considerate of the needs of both Singaporeans and foreign patients. The second-largest acute care general hospital in Singapore, Tan Tock Seng Hospital has 1,200 beds and has specialist centres for communicable diseases and rehabilitation medicine. Tan Tock Seng Hospital was founded in 1844. The hospital offers Singaporeans high-quality holistic health care services and is a part of the National Healthcare Group.
