Profile (Overview)
A children's hospital with 218 beds, The Stollery Children's Hospital debuted in October 2001. Being housed inside the University of Alberta Hospital and sharing space with the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute at the Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, it is a "hospital inside a hospital." The hospital is named for Bob and Shirley Stollery, who made the first donation that assisted in the construction of the facility. It was operated by Capital Health before being integrated into Alberta Health Services in 2008.
