Mr. Inderpaul Birdi is a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon with extensive training in performing cardiac surgery, including coronary artery surgery, heart bypass surgery, and heart valve repair and replacement. He is particularly interested in minimally invasive and keyhole surgery. Mr. Birdi started his medical training in the 1980s, when he earned his medical degree from the University of Nottingham. He continued on to receive specialized training in heart surgery, honing his abilities particularly at the Royal Papworth and The Royal Brompton Hospitals. Consultant cardiologist Dr. Jonathan Behar specializes in treating patients with abnormal cardiac rhythms. Dr. Behar attended the Royal Free and University College Medical Schools and graduated with honors. He then pursued a general medicine and cardiology fellowship in north London. Prior to accepting his current job, he worked as a consultant at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals and received his training in cardiac rhythm treatment at the Barts Heart Centre. He is also recognized as a Certified Cardiac Devices Specialist and a Certified Electrophysiology Specialist by the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners. Dr. Behar conducted ground-breaking research in conjunction with engineering, business, and clinical teams that resulted in the co-invention of an image guiding platform for individualized treatment of patients undergoing cardiac procedures that blends MRI and X-rays in real-time. In the city of London, at St. Bartholomew's Hospital NHS Trust, Mr. Dincer Aktuerk practices as a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon. After completing his surgical training in the UK, Mr. Aktuerk earned his degree from the University of Munich (TU), Germany, in 2006. In 2016, he was admitted to the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Following a fellowship in heart failure and transplant surgery completed in Sydney, Australia, Mr. Dincer Aktuerk underwent specialized transcatheter training in London and minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery training at Robert-Bosch Hospital in Stuttgart, Germany. He oversees St. Bartholomew's Hospital's minimally invasive mitral surgery program and provides a variety of surgical procedures. Dr. John Conibear received his medical degree from the University Hospital of Wales in 2001, and in 2006, he finished his rotation in postgraduate general medicine at Barts and The London Hospital. He finished a 2-year fellowship with the NCRI Radiotherapy Trials Quality Assurance Group in Mount Vernon Hospital before obtaining his formal position as a consultant clinical oncologist in St. Bartholomew's Hospital in 2014. He did research on methods to enhance clinician target outlining during radiation planning while on his fellowship, and as a result, in 2018 he received an MD(Res) from UCL. Currently, Dr. Conibear serves as the Barts Cancer Centre's deputy director and St. Bartholomew's Hospital's deputy medical director. In St. Bartholomew's Hospital, he also oversees chemotherapy and serves as the department's clinical director for thoracic oncology. Dr. Jiri Pavlu is a recognized authority on acute leukemia and transplantation around the world. At the premier haematology facility in the world, Hammersmith Hospital, he serves as the clinical lead for acute leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes. Dr. Pavlu is the head of various clinical trials and an active member of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation as well as the British Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation and Cellular Therapy. Together with his clinical team, he has developed fresh therapeutic approaches that are now part of routine clinical treatment. He is also a JACIE-accredited inspector for transplantation quality assurance. He received his degree from Prague's Charles University. The birthplace of Mr. Barazi is Copenhagen, Denmark. Before enrolling at King's College Hospital's medical program in London, he attended Winchester College. He qualified in 1996 and finished his military duty in Toulouse, France with the 14th Parachute Regiment. The Atkinson Morley Hospital in Wimbledon, London, where he worked under Henry Marsh, Simon Stapleton, Francis Johnston, Anthony Bell, and Anne Moore, appointed him Senior House Officer when he had returned to the city. 2011 saw the appointment of him as a consultant neurosurgeon at King's College Hospital. In addition to performing more than 700 instances of pituitary surgery, he also specializes in skull base surgery, face pain (including trigeminal and glossopharyngeal neuralgia), hemifacial spasm, and spine. Together with Dr. Giorgio Lambru, he established the neurosurgical facial pain service at King's College Hospital and St. Thomas' Hospital. Mr. Hani Abdul-Jabar received a distinction in his MBBS degree from the Imperial College School of Medicine in 2004. 2015 saw him receive the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England after completing his training on the London Northwest Thames rotation. He finished his fellowship in the lower limbs at the hip unit at Guys Hospital. He received a visiting fellowship to Pretoria, South Africa, and a traveling fellowship from the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) to Toronto, Canada. Professor Hashim Ahmed is a well-known specialist in prostate cancer diagnosis, imaging, biopsy, and minimally invasive treatments including cryotherapy or whole-gland HIFU for primary or radiorecurrent disease. He has carried out thousands of HIFU treatments as well as thousands of transperineal targeted and mapping biopsies. In the UK and other parts of the world, he has trained dozens of surgeons in similar procedures. He has delivered numerous invited lectures in this field, and he is now working on and publishing many of the important articles that are changing the way that prostate cancer is diagnosed and treated. In Britain and Scandinavia, he continued his training and did research in reconstructive plastic surgery, cosmetic surgery, and microsurgery. He has been based at Cromwell Hospital since 1988.
