Dr. Jagath lal Gangadharan has been working at Rajagiri Hospital from April 2015. He received his training in brain and spine surgery at the reputed NIMHANS in Bangalore, India. He then went on to receive additional training in minimally invasive neurosurgery and skull base surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, USA; head injury at the University of Washington in Seattle, USA; brain tumour surgery at the University of Regensburg in Munich, Germany; and endovascular neurosurgery at G.B.Pant Hospital in New Delhi. During his seven-year employment as Professor and Associate professor at NIMHANS, Bangalore, a national-level institute, he autonomously operated on over 2000 complicated neurosurgical cases involving paediatric and adult brain and spine illnesses. He is also a specialist in Gamma knife radiosurgery, which is only conducted in a few chosen centres throughout the world. He has conducted research in the areas of Traumatic Brain Injury, Neurooncology, Spine Injury, Stroke, and Advanced Neuroimaging. He has numerous international publications and talks in the United States, Japan, Europe, and Malaysia. He received his training in Nephrology from one of South India's premier teaching institutions, the Government Medical College in Thiruvanthapuram. He spent a year as a senior lecturer at the medical college in Thiruvanthapuram. Dr. Jose Thomas joined Caritas Hospital, Kottayam in 2011 as a Consultant in the Nephrology department and developed a Kidney Transplant Unit there. Dr. Murukan Babu brings years of expertise, knowledge, and experience in specialist Orthopedics to Rajagiri Hospital. He has extensive experience in joint replacements and arthroscopies of various joints, having performed over 2000 total joint replacements on his own, including primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasties. Dr. Ramachandran Narayanamenon received his MBBS from the Government Medical College in Thrissur in April 1997 and his MS in General Surgery from the Government Medical College in Madurai (March 2001). Following his MS, he completed DNB in General Surgery (May 2002) and DNB in Surgical Gastroenterology at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Kochi (May 2008). He completed a Senior Clinical Fellowship at Cambridge University Hospitals' Multi Organ Transplant Unit in the UK (March 2013-April 2014) and got experience in various parts of patient care for liver, pancreas, small bowel, and multi-visceral transplantation. Prior to joining Rajagiri, he was a Clinical Associate Professor in GI and Solid Organ Transplant Services at AIMS Kochi for over 12 years, where he was a key figure in Complex hepato-biliary surgery, adult and paediatric liver transplantation, Pancreas-kidney transplantation, intestinal transplantation, and Robotic liver donor hepatectomies. He also received advanced vascular surgery training and served on the faculty of the vascular surgery department at AIMS - Kochi. In 1991, he received the best all-round graduate and B.S Sen gold medals for his MBBS and MS from JIPMER, Pondicherry. He received his M.Ch in Urology from the famed Christian Medical College in Vellore, where his father, the legendary Dr. H.S Bhat, had founded the first postgraduate programme in Urology in India (popularly known as the father of Indian Urology). In 2000, he established the Department of Urology at The Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Kochi, Kerala, which is now regarded as one of the best in the country. He was a professor and the director of urology before joining Sunrise Hospital in November 2009. He left the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in May 2014 to become the Head of the Department of Urology and Renal Transplant at the Rajagiri Hospital in Kerala in October 2014. He is a pioneer and well-known practitioner of advanced urological laparoscopy, Endourology, Paediatric urology, and reconstructive urology. He is credited with doing the most laparoscopic adrenalectomies in India, as well as one of the most laparoscopic live related kidney retrievals for transplant and laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. He is credited with the first laparoscopic right-sided kidney retrieval in India, as well as the first laparoscopic partial nephrectomy for tumours. Dr. Shiv K Nair has been the Head of Department and Senior Consultant of the Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery Department at Rajagiri Hospital since November 2014. He was previously the Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, a University Teaching Hospital (1999 – 2014). In 1989, he began his career as a Lecturer at the Seth G.S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital in Bombay. This is Bombay's largest University Teaching Hospital. He later became an Assistant and then Associate Professor at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in Trivandrum [1990 - 1999].
