DOCTORS

In 1992, Mr. Asimakopoulos earned his medical degree from the University of Hamburg in Germany. He completed his cardiothoracic surgery residency in West London between 1999 and 2006, followed by a year as a fellow in heart and lung transplantation at Harefield Hospital. After that, he spent seven years working as a consultant cardiac surgeon at University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust. He performed more than 230 heart surgery procedures annually while he was working at Bristol, making him one of the busiest cardiac surgeons in the UK. As an aortic surgeon with a focus on difficult issues with the aortic valve, aortic root, ascending aorta, and arch, he joined Royal Brompton Hospital in February 2014. Head of vascular surgery at the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust and professor of vascular surgery at Imperial College London is Nick Cheshire. Professor Cheshire's research focuses on the use of technology in complex aortic illness, as well as robots, virtual reality, and genomics. In the UK, Europe, and the USA, research projects related to these topics have brought in more than £12 million and been recognized with awards. In addition to being a founding member of the British Society for Endovascular Therapy, Professor Cheshire serves as the European representative on the council of the International Society for Vascular Surgery. The Charing Cross Symposium in London, the Veith Symposium in New York, the Multidisciplinary European Endovascular Therapy (MEET) Congress, and the Controversies and Updates in Vascular Surgery (CACVS) meeting in Paris all have him on their organization and scientific boards. "At the Royal Brompton Hospital, Professor Peter Collins practices as a consultant cardiologist and sees both NHS and private patients. He completed his education at Caius College, the University of Cambridge, and St. Thomas' Hospital Medical School (now a division of King's College London), after which he completed his junior residency in London. Professor Collins attended the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff to pursue a degree in research. He earned his MD from the University of Cambridge, where his thesis earned him the Sir Walter Langdon-Brown award. As a consultant cardiologist, he joined Royal Brompton Hospital in 1989. He was named a clinical cardiology professor at Imperial College London in 2001. Professor Collins vigorously supports the prevention of coronary heart disease through the best risk factor management. He founded the women's heart clinic at Royal Brompton Hospital, one of the first of its kind in the UK, alongside Professor John Stevenson. In his medical studies at the University of Zurich, Professor Thomas Lüscher focused on internal medicine and cardiology. He received training in echocardiography and cardiovascular research at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, before being appointed professor of pharmacotherapy at the University of Basel. Later, he held positions as an interventional cardiologist and professor of cardiology at the University of Berne, director of the university heart center at the university hospital in Zurich, and director of the center for molecular cardiology at the university in Zurich, all in Switzerland. Pembroke College in Cambridge, Charing Cross Medical School, and Westminster Medical School are where Dr. Stuart Rosen completed his medical undergraduate studies. At the hospitals in Charing Cross, Hammersmith, and St. Mary's, he received specialized cardiology training. Dr. Rosen is a consultant cardiologist at Royal Brompton Hospital and a professor of practice in cardiology at Imperial College London's National Heart and Lung Institute. Dr. Rosen is an expert in severe hypertension, syncope, and heart failure. Transoesophageal echocardiography, stress echo, tilt testing, autonomic assessment, and ultrafiltration for decompensated heart failure are among his technical specialties. Together with Drs. Alexander Lyon and Rakesh Sharma, he founded the cardio-oncology department at Royal Brompton Hospital. For patients at risk of cardiotoxicity or who have experienced cardiac issues as a result of their anti-cancer treatment, the unit offers specialized care. View Profile

Professor Daubeney practices pediatric cardiology as a consultant. Having completed his training at Oxford and St. Thomas's Hospital, he proceeded to Southampton, Melbourne, and Toronto for his pediatric cardiology training. He was hired in 1999 by the Chelsea & Westminster and Royal Brompton Hospitals as a pediatric and fetal cardiology consultant. His training in specialized was in pediatric and fetal echocardiography, which is the scanning of the heart of an unborn child. The Tatler guide ranked him among the top 250 private physicians. His area of clinical specialization is the treatment of all types of cardiac problems in newborns, kids, teens, and unborn children. In 1996, Dr. Giovanni Di Salvo earned his medical degree in Italy. He later went on to specialize in cardiology and get his certificate of excellence in medical emergencies. At the Katholieke University of Leuven in Belgium, he earned a master's degree in medical imaging in 2002 and a PhD in cardio-respiratory physiopathology and related biotechnologies in 2004. Prior to joining the Trust in 2016 as a lead consultant in paediatric echocardiography, Dr. Di Salvo worked in a variety of organizations around the world, including Naples and Saudi Arabia. Dr. Di Salvo was appointed director of paediatric cardiology research at Royal Brompton Hospital in July 2017 and appointed honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College, London, in October 2016.
