He has pioneered several techniques in the field of urology, including Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotrispy, a technique to dissolve kidney stones using shockwaves without invasive surgery. He has a particular interest in alternative therapy for sexual issues and inadequacies. Thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon Dr. Lim Chong Hee has over 25 years of practical expertise. His areas of expertise include the treatment of heart and lung failure, aortic aneurysms, mediastinal tumours, esophagectomy for esophageal cancer, and pulmonary embolectomy and endarterectomy surgery. He pioneered the Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) and the installation of Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD) for heart failure patients because of his particular interest in heart and lung failure. Dr. Lim previously worked at the National Heart Centre in Singapore, where he is still a visiting consultant today. Dr. Lee Kim En, an old Rafflesian, earned his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1993. He later became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) and underwent specialty training in neurology. He was then given a clinical and research fellowship in stroke and critical care neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, where he trained and collaborated with the best and brightest in neuroscience. Dr. Lee was accepted as a Fellow of the Edinburgh-based Royal College of Physicians in 2004. He completed a brief sabbatical fellowship at the Mayo Clinic the following year. Dr. Lee was instrumental in establishing the Acute Stroke Service, making MR imaging accessible to all patients suspected of having an ischemic stroke, and putting the ""Hub and Spoke"" TeleStroke Service model into place at the National Neuroscience Institute to support acute stroke patients admitted to Changi General Hospital and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
